In pursuit of excellence in teaching among faculty members Keshav Memorial Educational Society, Hyderabad has organized a two day Orientation Programme from 11th to 12th June, 2014 for lecturers and teachers. In his inaugural address, the chief guest Justice L. Narasimha reddy of High court has stressed upon the importance of teachers honing their skills, individual development and value based education.

Prof J.L.N.Rao of Osmania University in his key note address“ State of Higher Education in India-Challenges and opportunities “ wanted the teachers to inculcate in students a spirit of enquiry rather than rote learning from text books. He has stressed for diversity in syllabi in higher education which encourages the students to be on par with global level requirements.

Prof. Kamalakar, advisor of Nalsar University by his lecture on “Teacher Etiquettes” has enlightened the lecturers on setting a good example to students by being punctual, properly dressed and stressed , there must be no friction between teachers and students, also among students.


The next lecture was on “Art of Teaching” by motivational speaker Akella Raghavendra, who charged the whole atmosphere with his inspirational and motivated speech and stressed for commitment, impartiality, and inspiration among the teachers.

The second day session started with the address by Jawaharlal Nehru, famous Psychologist and Personality development trainer. He explained the need and the method of diverting negative emotions, considering the emotions of the students. He stressed for proper channelization of the emotions for a vibrant atmosphere in classroom.

Prof. Rameshwaram of Kakatiya University delivered a lecture on “Marching towards well being” in which he stressed upon teachers becoming path makers rather than being path finders for students. The next lecture was “English language skills for teaching” by Daniel Silvanus, a well experienced language trainer. He enlightened the lecturers on how to improve the listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. The last lecture of the programme was delivered by Dr. J. Nageswar rao on “Teachers role for better Society”. He told the teachers to try and not to commit mistakes and to analyze themselves. He wanted them to treat failure and success of students equally without prejudice and highlighted on creating confidence in students.

Secretary and Correspondent of Keshav memorial educational society T.Harihara Sarma gave valedictory speech. He wanted the teachers to explain clearly for proper understanding by the students. Prof. Rameshwaram, who was also the chief guest wanted the teachers and students to bother more about development of inner self rather than physical self.

The Orientation Programme on the whole motivated the Participants sufficiently for their tasks with enthusiasm.
